Your Play Please

Yesterday I was down the pub playing some games and came across this move.
You might think to yourself, whats so interesting about that position, but I was interested to find out what the correct  move was. Any comments appreciated.



                                        White to play 5-5
                                        I moved 2 x 6 to 1 (Take).... Then bear 2 off the 5
                                        Was this right?
                                        My first thought was to bear all 5 from the 5 point.
                                                      (Then changed my mind)
